Our approach
GUNFON started with a challenge familiar to rubber farmers: rain can interrupt tapping and enter the latex cup. This rain guard is designed to shield and divert rainwater. Results depend on installation, wind and farm conditions.

Rain can interrupt tapping or enter a latex cup when it runs across the tapping panel. GUNFON GF-9 is a plastic accessory designed to sit above the tapping panel and help shield the area and divert rain away from the cup. Actual results depend on rainfall, wind, placement and tree conditions.
Place the guard above the tapping panel and orient it so runoff leaves to the sides, clear of the latex cup. Check the fit, damage and accumulated leaves periodically. After rain, observe the water path to make sure it is not draining back across the panel or into the cup. Placement may need to suit each tree and collection setup.
Before use, check that the size and fastening method suit the tree, since installation details and accessories may vary. Keep the tapping path and routine work clear, and inspect the guard after severe weather. Images on this website illustrate the concept and do not confirm final manufacturing dimensions or specifications.
